All of it is free right now.
We have not worked out what to charge for yet. Rather than publish a table we would rewrite in a month, here is exactly where things stand — and the one part that is not going to change.
The part that does not change
One colleague is free. Permanently.
Not a trial, not a fourteen-day window, and not a version so cut down it cannot show you anything. A real colleague doing the real job, for as long as you want it.
- Unlimited memory
- It never stops remembering, and we never delete what it has. The whole point of this product is that the record accumulates — a free tier that quietly forgets would be selling the opposite of the thing.
- Up to three projects
- Each project keeps its own memory, so asking about one never drags in the others. Three is enough to find out whether this works for you, on real work, more than once.
- Everywhere it lives
- The web, an email address of its own, and inside the AI tools you already use. The free colleague is not fenced out of a surface to make a point.
- The reasoning, readable
- You can read back how it got to what it told you — the trail, not just the answer. That is the product, not an upsell.

As many colleagues as you like, as many projects, shared with whoever you want. Not because we have decided that is the plan — because we have not decided anything yet, and charging for something before you can explain why is how you end up defending a price you do not believe in.
This is the sentence that will stop being true. When it does, you will hear it from us before anything costs money — not from a receipt.
Three things we are committing to now
Not aspirations. These are the ones we would be embarrassed to break.

You hear about it before you pay for it
No card on file, no silent conversion at the end of a trial, no plan that starts billing because a counter rolled over. If something is going to cost money, we say so first and you decide.

Your memory is not the hostage
If you never pay us a cent, the colleague you built keeps what it learned. We are not going to hold three months of your project's reasoning behind an upgrade button.

We will say what the money is for
When there is a price, it will come with the reason. A number with no argument under it is exactly the kind of claim this product was built to be suspicious of.
What we will probably charge for, when we do
Stated as a direction, not a promise, because none of it is decided:
- More than one colleague, once you want a whole cast rather than a single one.
- Workspaces where a team shares the same memory and the same standing rules.
- Serving a colleague to your own users through the API, where the volume is genuinely ours to carry.
You will notice the free colleague is not on that list. That is the point of it being on this page.
Where some of it goes
A share of it goes back to where the name came from.
“Oolkin” comes from óol and k’íin — Yucatec Maya for spirit and time — verified for us by Elías Chambor Yuk, who coordinates conservation work in the Selva Lacandona in Chiapas and is raising money for school bags for kids in his community.
Once there is a paid plan to take a share from, a portion of it goes there. Not a percentage yet — that gets decided honestly, not guessed at here — but the direction is decided.
Questions worth asking
Is this a free trial?
No. A trial is a countdown; this is a floor. The single free colleague has no end date on it, and nothing above expires into a bill.
What happens to my second and third colleague when pricing arrives?
We will tell you before it costs anything, and you will get to decide then. What we will not do is switch them off overnight or start charging a card we do not have.
Why not just publish a price now?
Because we would change it. There are a handful of real users on this and no clear picture yet of which part is worth paying for. A table invented today would be a guess wearing a suit — and this page is the last place that belongs.
Three projects — what counts as one?
Whatever you would call a project: a book, a product, a client, a codebase. Each keeps its own memory, so a colleague working on one never answers you out of another one's history.
The free one is the same product.
There is no reduced version to try first. Describe a colleague, put it on your actual work, and see whether it is any good.
